The Weekend Agenda: 11/4/2016 – 11/6/2016

A speaking engagement, a football game, and a concert… that’s what’s on the bill for “The Weekend Agenda” today on Live and Groove. Those are not the only things happening in the Birmingham area this weekend, but they will be the ones I’m focusing on today.

Let’s go ahead and check out what’s happening!

Andrew W.K. Weekend

(Andrew W.K. returns to Birmingham for a speaking engagement at Saturn.)

Saturn will be the place to be in Birmingham on Friday night as Andrew W.K. will be making a return to the venue. This won’t be a musical performance like the last time he was in Birmingham, though. This will be a speaking engagement as part of his “The Power of Partying” tour.

According to the event’s page, the eventĀ “will be an intimate celebration of discussion, a pep rally for the inner spirit, and an optimistic look at the overwhelming intensity of life. The tour sees Andrew continuing his eternal mission to defend and promote human joy, and the never-ending collective search to find truth through partying.”

Definitely don’t miss this if you’re a fan of Andrew W.K., partying, or just positive living in general.

There will also be free pizza available for those in attendance so you really can’t lose!

Doors at Saturn will open at 8, and Andrew will begin his talk at 9. More information, including the option to purchase tickets, can be found by visitingĀ

Saturday, November 5th, 2016

I don’t plan on leaving the house on Saturday because it’s a pretty big football day, and the biggest game of the weekend will be in prime time. Alabama kicks off against LSU on CBS at 7:00 P.M., and that will be the extent of my activities for Saturday.

I’m sure there are a lot of fun things happening in and around Birmingham on Saturday, but, yeah, I’m going to be at home watching the game in peace. Roll Tide.

mewithoutYou Weekend

(mewithoutYou returns to Saturn Birmingham for a performance on Sunday, November 6th.)

The weekend will close for me with a return trip to Saturn to see and photograph the show by mewithoutYou. I last photographed them at the venue in 2015, and it was a really good performance. Expectations are high for this one as well.

Yoni Wolf and Needle Points will be serving as the opening acts on this bill. Doors open at 7 on Sunday, and the show will begin at 8. More information, including ticket pricing, can be found by visitingĀ

That’s the weekend for me. Did I miss something I should be aware of to the point of checking it out? If so, send it my way!
