The Weekend Agenda: 10/14/16 – 10/16/16

The weekend is upon us, and it’s going to be another busy one for me. I’ve got two concert shoots on the agenda to bookend the weekend, while the middle portion will be spent hating a certain college football team based in the wretched town of Knoxville, Tennessee.

Sounds like a full slate, doesn’t it?

Let’s take a look at what’s going down this particular weekend!

Diarrhea Planet Weekend

(Diarrhea Planet performs at Saturn Birmingham on October 14th, 2016.)

I’ll be heading to Saturn Birmingham later tonight to finally photograph a band I’ve been wanting to catch for a long time. The wonderfully named Diarrhea Planet will be performing at the venue.

I’ve missed the band the past few times they’ve been in the Birmingham area, but I don’t plan on missing the performance this particular evening. I have a great deal of respect for any band with a sense of humor big enough to name themselves Diarrhea Planet.

Doors open at at 8 and the show begins at 9. If you are interested in catching the Nashville based band’s performance at Saturn, which includes an opening performance by Western Medication, you can get more information by visiting¬†

Saturday, October 15th, 2016

Saturday will be spent at home watching college football as it’ll be the culmination of the 2016 edition of Tennessee Hate Week. That’s right, Alabama takes on Tennessee and, if all is right with the world, will curb stomp those orange devils with no sign of mercy or remorse.

If you can’t tell, I rather despise Tennessee and all they stand for and are about. It warms my icy cold college football heart every time Alabama beats them, especially when the game is in Knoxville.

Remember – They low down, they dirty, they some snitches.

Blake Babies Weekend

(Blake Babies perform at Saturn Birmingham on October 16th, 2016.)

To close out the weekend, I’ll be returning to Saturn Birmingham to photograph what should be another fun and interesting show. Blake Babies, the based band featuring Juliana Hatfield, John P. Strohm, and Freda Love (Smith), have gotten back together to do some reunion shows. Luckily, Birmingham was included on the list of cities that band decided to visit.

This has the makings of being a memorable and can’t miss show so I’m really looking forward to seeing how it plays out. If you’re interested in being a part of the experience, you can get more information by visiting¬†

That’s the weekend for me. Did I miss something I should be aware of to the point of checking it out? If so, send it my way!
