Wow… we’re more than halfway through the month of September, even though this weekend will probably feel a lot more like July or August.
Hopefully, you all can beat the heat these next couple of days by checking out some fun events around the Birmingham, Alabama area. I’ve narrowed down a couple that might be of interest.
Let’s take a look at what’s ahead and what you should check out this particular weekend!
Friday, September 16th, 2016
One of Birmingham’s longest running and most popular food festivals takes place this weekend as the Holy Trinity-Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Cathedral Greek Food Festival will celebrate its 44th year in operation.
I’m not sure if I’ll be able to get down to be a part of it, but I did want to share the word about the event because it should be a fantastic cultural experience for anyone in the Birmingham, Alabama area.
The festival is a celebration of Greek culture with, naturally, a specific emphasis on a wonderfully delicious Greek menu. In addition to tours of the lovely cathedral and Greek dancing, patrons will be able to enjoy a variety of Greek meals and pastries.
Things actually kicked off on Thursday, and they run through Saturday. Dine-in service along with drive-in service are available.
It should be a lot of fun and highly enjoyable for anyone attending the festival. You can check out more information about the event, including hours of operation and the full menu, by visiting http://www.birminghamgreekfestival.net/.
Saturday, September 17th, 2016
Although most people will be glued to their televisions watching college football, especially the Alabama vs. Ole Miss game at 2:30 P.M., the highlight of Saturday will be the performance by Titus Andronicus at Saturn Birmingham in Birmingham, Alabama on Saturday evening.
Titus Andronicus will be performing with A Giant Dog, who will be providing the opening slot entertainment.
I’ll be on hand at the event to photograph the fun, and I hope to see a lot of you out to enjoy the show. It should be a very entertaining one.
Tickets are $12.00, doors will open at 8:00 P.M., and the show begins at 9:00 P.M. You can check out more information by visiting http://www.saturnbirmingham.com/event/1229227-titus-andronicus-birmingham/.

Other than editing and sharing the photos I took at the Titus Andronicus show, I don’t really have anything planned for Sunday. That being said, though, I charge you all to get out and do something fun. Do something different. Live a little!
If that doesn’t sound intriguing, well, there’s the full NFL slate for you to enjoy. You make the call.
That’s the weekend for me. Did I miss something I should be aware of to the point of checking it out? If so, send it my way!
