The Weekend Agenda: 2/12/16 – 2/14/16

Welcome to this week’s edition of “The Weekend Agenda” on “Live and Groove”! I know you were all anxiously awaiting to see what I have lined up for this particular weekend.

I’m sure you could sense the sarcasm in that statement.

Anyways, let’s go ahead and take a look at things… at least humor me and say you did. Will that work?

(Details of the Arenacross party at Innisfree in Birmingham, Alabama)

I’ve actually got a Friday that’s pretty wide open in the sense that I don’t have a concert to shoot. I’d rather have one to shoot, to be honest, but sometimes that’s just the way things go. I do know I’ll be going to Innisfree in Birmingham this evening around 6:00 P.M. to check out the Ricky Carmichael Cup party. This is in conjunction with the AMSOIL Arenacross event that will be taking place at the Legacy Arena at the BJCC on February 13th and 14th. I can’t make it to the actual event, but I figured I’d check out the party and help a friend who is promoting everything. The event takes place between 6 and 9 P.M. with free pizza, chances to meet Arenacross’ biggest stars, and more!

After that, I have no idea what I’ll be doing this evening. I might call it early, watch some movies at home, and enjoy a nice adult beverage or few. The world is my oyster tonight.

Saturn Chili Cook Off

(The first ever chili cook-off at Saturn Birmingham is this Saturday!)

This is the big one, y’all. This is what will be taking up the bulk of my weekend. The first ever chili cook-off at Saturn Birmingham in Birmingham, Alabama takes place on Saturday. The weather will be down right frigid so it’ll be a fantastic opportunity to warm your insides with spicy chili.

Registration happens between 6:15 P.M. and 7:00 P.M. with the judging and public tasting taking place after that. It’s $5 to enter or $5 to sample the chili. More information can be found by visiting¬†

Myself, my friend Daniel Di Bona, and all the staff at Saturn has put a lot into making this happen so I hope you all get a chance to check it out and participate!

If you’re not going to Saturn for the competition, check out the Arenacross event at the BJCC!

(MUTEMATH performs at Iron City on February 14th, 2016)

Is this some kind of a holiday or something? I see people talking about it, but I’m not certain on what they’re going to be celebrating. I might have a job photographing MUTEMATH at Iron City, although I’m still waiting a yes or no on that. If it falls through, well, I’ll be spending this Sunday in the comfort and warmth of my home considering it’ll be, once again, down right frigid outside.

You can, however, check out more information about the MUTEMATH show by visiting

So, there you have it, that’s my weekend in a nicely contained blog post. What do you have on tap for the weekend? Did I miss anything of note? Let me know if I did.
